UnitedHealthcare faces nationwide class-action suit for allegedly overcharging for prescriptions.
WVUE-TV New Orleans reported, “A federal class action lawsuit has been filed against the insurance company UnitedHealthcare” alleging that firm “secretly overcharged customers for prescription drugs.” The lawsuit, which the piece reported “is based on a series of investigations by FOX 8 News called Medical Waste,” alleges the company engaged in widespread overcharging, which pharmacists call “a clawback.” According to WVUE, “United customers in New York, New Jersey and Michigan filed suit in a Minnesota federal court, where United’s corporate office is located.”
