NJ TRANSIT TRAIN CRASH:
The train was No. 1614 on the Pascack Valley line, traveling from Spring Valley, New York, at 7:23 a.m., according to ABC News.
The crash occurred at about 8:45 a.m., according to The Associated Press.
At least 100 are hurt, some critically, according to 4 New York.
Multiple passengers on the train were trapped, Reuters reported.
4 New York also reported that multiple law enforcement officials said the crash was accidental or caused by operator error, though they said it is early in the investigation.
Reuters also quoted a passenger as saying the train seemed to be going too fast as it came into the stop.
An NJ Transit train has crashed into the Hoboken train station, causing extensive damage and dozens of injuries, according to multiple published reports.
According to 4 New York, fire officials said they were investigating the crash as a possible derailment. The report also quoted a police official as saying there were “mass casualties.”
All PATH and NJ Transit service to the station has been shut down, reports said.
