Robert Leight, our dear colleague and friend, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010. He was 47 years old. Robert was educated in the Old Bridge Township school system, where he was an honor student. He graduated from Rider College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. His academic distinctions include induction into the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society. He was a selected member of the 1987 Rider College Academic Team. Before becoming an attorney, Robert worked for 10 years in the mortgage industry. He received a Juris Doctorate in 1998 from Quinnipiac College School of Law. Robert was admitted to practice law by the New Jersey Supreme Court and by the United States District Court in 1999. He joined the firm of Gill & Chamas in 1999, where his practice consisted of personal injury law, work related accidents, municipal court and real estate matters. In his free time, Robert was an exceptional athlete, enjoying sports such as football, rugby, softball, and golf.
Robert will be remembered for his energetic personality, dedication to his family and friends, and his willingness to lend a hand, in and out of the office. All of us at Gill & Chamas will deeply miss Robert, and are grateful to have worked alongside him. He is survived by his wife, Rachael, and their two sons, Robert and Dylan.
