Peter Chamas and David Lande spoke about Workers’ Compensation and employee rights at the New Jersey State Policeman’s Benevolent Association 2018 Collective Bargaining Seminar in Atlantic City, NJ last week. Mr. Chamas is certified by the Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney and Mr. Lande is certified by the Supreme Court as a Workers’ Compensation Law Attorney.
David Lande gave a brief overview of Workers’ Compensation and its’ benefits, which include:
1) medical, surgical, & other treatment & hospital services,
2) temporary disability payments, and
3) compensation for permanent disability.
Peter Chamas spoke about third-party cases, which are fault based and the injured party can recover for items such as pain, physical and mental suffering, discomfort, distress, loss of enjoyment of life. The attorneys also answered individual questions by the officers following the presentation.
