William Bock recovered $750,000 for a woman who was injured as a result of an automobile accident on Rt. 1 in Edison, NJ. The woman was operating her vehicle southbound when she was struck by another vehicle as she was stopped for a red light. The defendant testified that she had slowed down for the light, but did not see the plaintiff’s brake lights and assumed that she had started moving forward when the light turned green.
The middle-aged woman suffered injuries to her low back that required a hemilaminectomy at L4-L5. Even after the operation, she continues to have complaints of back pain and is unable to do some of her favorite activities since the accident. Defendants argued that her need for surgery was to address degenerative changes and were not related to the accident. Both parties agreed to settle the lawsuit in the fall of 2022.
