William Bock of Gill & Chamas recovered $1.45 million for a man, Mr. V, who was driving a car carrier when the rear of his vehicle was struck by the front of a trailing box truck.
As a result of the accident, Mr. V. suffered injuries to his neck and knee. These injuries required him to undergo operations to both his cervical spine and knee. While Mr. V continued to work following the accident, he is no longer able to perform that work pain-free. Additionally, Mr. V can no longer enjoy certain recreational activities with his family that he had in the past.
Defendants hired a biomechanical expert and argued that Mr. V’s injuries could not have been sustained during the impact and argued that his injuries and resulting surgeries were due to preexisting conditions.
