Peter Chamas of Gill & Chamas in Woodbridge, NJ recovered $1,125,000 for a man who suffered injuries due to a motorcycle accident in Middlesex County, NJ. Mr. O was riding his motorcycle on a local highway when he lost control, hit a curb and was ejected. As he was traveling along a portion of this highway, he encountered broken pavement in the area of the expansion joints. The pavement area was deteriorated due to the cycle of freezing and thawing. The Department of Transportation attempted to maintain the area by patching the holes. It was determined the roadway contained uneven patching and potholes, which was hazardous to motorcycle operators, and should have been properly maintained and repaired.
As a result of this accident, Mr. O suffered multiple orthopedic injuries, internal injuries, and missed 9 months of work. While he has returned to his profession, he still has lingering symptoms from his injuries.
This Middlesex County lawsuit settled in the fall of 2023.
