The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is a federal agency that does research and makes suggestions to avoid injuries in the workplaces. The research they conduct is critical to provide solutions to issues in the workplace. The Institute carries out this work in an effort to protect the health and safety of the United States’ 120 million workers, according to Statista. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 established NIOSH. NIOSH partners with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). OSHA is part of the U.S. Department of Labor, and it develops and enforces workplace safety and health regulations.
